Pauline Ferrick-Squibb

I am a researcher and interdisciplinary artist who specialises in social documentary photography. I am employed as a senior lecturer at the Arts University Bournemouth and have been working with students at all levels for over 20 years.

My work addresses social and political issues; I use photography to advocate for others and often work as an insider raising awareness of issues that I have some personal insight in.

My current research is to raise awareness of the disparity in health care for women, in particular for those experiencing menopause; this research has been funded by Research England and The Arts University Bournemouth; this is participatory research where women are sharing their experiences and advocating for change through creative workshops to create a quilt, utilising photography to facilitate the sharing of stories.

In the past my work has been displayed as part of group shows in UK galleries, The National Portrait Gallery, The Photographers gallery, The National Science and Media Museum, Manchester Arts Gallery and The Watershed amongst others.

My aim is to use participatory research to create accessible imagery that has the potential to cause positive change.
